Critical Incident Stress Debrief Training

The adverse psychological impact of critical incidents is widely recognised and includes anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance and fatigue. In the workplace this can lead to reduced efficiency, motivation and morale, as well as unsafe practice.

Critical incident Stress debriefing (CID) is a highly effective process. Skilled CISD facilitators are a valuable asset to many public and private organisations.

Drawing on our expertise as therapists, this course will provide you with the theory and framework, as well as the skills, knowledge and confidence to conduct CISDs – either in person, or online.

 AIM:
The aim of this training it to support delegates in gaining knowledge and understanding of the impact a Critical Incident can have on the work force. Additionally delegates will develop an understanding of how to identify the affects of trauma and an awareness of healthy/unhealthy coping strategies.

Delegates will gain confidence and competence in the ability to facilitate a Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) in a group and individual setting.

By the end of this training session delegates will be able to-

•Explain what a Critical Incident Stress Debrief is

•Competently facilitate a CISD in adherence to the Mitchell Debriefing Model
